What You Will Learn
Who it's for
For remote-pilot applicants and working drone operators who want to study a defined Part 107 topic with short, self-paced lessons. It is independent education—not FAA training, an FAA credential, or a promise of a test result.
About This Course
Learn the rule. Check the condition. Choose the next sound step.
Part 107 Regulations & Remote ID Essentials is a focused, self-paced course for the regulation questions that reward careful reading rather than quick assumptions. Study original lessons on operating limitations, registration and marking, Remote ID, airspace authorization versus waivers, recurrent training boundaries, and practical decision-making.
Each lesson uses a repeatable routine: identify the rule named in the prompt, separate it from facts that must be current, and explain what should be checked before a live operation. The course supports Part 107 exam preparation and better study habits; it is not legal advice, a flight authorization, or a substitute for current FAA sources and operational judgment.
SkyPilot Prep is an independent education provider. Always verify current FAA guidance, airspace requirements, aircraft limitations, site conditions, and crew readiness before flight.
Your study system
Regulation-first study method
Turn long rule prompts into a clear sequence: identify the limit, isolate the facts, and name the current detail to verify.
Remote ID and registration clarity
Practice connecting registration, marking, Remote ID, aircraft capability, and mission context without skipping the required checks.
Original decision scenarios
Work through original educational scenarios that build reasoning habits without posing as FAA test items, advice, or flight clearance.
Prerequisites
- A basic Part 107 study plan and willingness to verify live-operation details with current FAA sources.
- A notebook or notes app for recording regulations, terminology, and questions that require a current-source check.
- No prior drone operations experience is required; this is an exam-prep and operational-judgment course, not flight training or authorization.
Completion record
A SkyPilot Prep completion record reflects course participation only. It is not an FAA certificate, rating, waiver, authorization, proof of recurrent training, or permission to conduct flight operations.
Independent preparation
SkyPilot Prep is an independent education provider and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration. This course is training only; it is not legal advice, a waiver, an airspace authorization, a flight plan, or a substitute for aeronautical decision-making. It does not guarantee a knowledge-test result or authorize flight operations. Verify current FAA requirements, aircraft limitations, weather, site conditions, and crew readiness before flight.
Questions before takeoff
Is this an FAA course or an authorization to operate?
No. SkyPilot Prep is an independent education provider. This course is training only and does not provide FAA approval, a waiver, airspace authorization, legal advice, or permission to fly.
Does completing the course satisfy recurrent training or Remote ID requirements?
No. Course completion is not a substitute for any FAA requirement. Verify current recurrent-training, registration, Remote ID, airspace, and operating requirements through current official sources.
Are these actual FAA knowledge-test questions?
No. The lessons and scenarios are original SkyPilot Prep educational material. They are not recalled questions, official FAA test items, or a reproduction of an exam.
How long does the course take?
Plan for about 2 hours and 19 minutes of lesson time, plus time to pause, review current FAA references, and work through your own study notes.
What is included with this course?
Your enrollment includes the self-paced course lessons, the published course outline, and any free preview lesson shown on this page. It is independent preparation material; it does not include an FAA knowledge test appointment or FAA-issued credential.
How long can I access the course?
The current application keeps access available while your enrollment record remains active. It does not enforce a time-based access expiration. If a refund is approved, access to that refunded course may be revoked under the refund policy.
How does the 14-day refund policy work?
You may request a refund within 14 days of purchase when you have completed or accessed less than 20% of the purchased course. Submit the request through the refund policy or Contact page; requests are reviewed manually and are not automatically approved.
Does this course replace the FAA knowledge test?
No. This course does not replace the FAA knowledge test. Applicants must follow the FAA's remote-pilot steps, including taking the Unmanned Aircraft General—Small knowledge test at an FAA-approved knowledge testing center.
Is the completion certificate an FAA certificate?
No. Any completion certificate is a SkyPilot Prep course-completion record only—not an FAA certificate, rating, license, or credential.
How do I register and schedule the knowledge test?
Create an FAA Tracking Number in IACRA, then schedule the Unmanned Aircraft General—Small knowledge test at an FAA-approved knowledge testing center. Review the FAA's remote pilot steps before booking.
What are the score, question count, and test fee?
The current PSI UAG bulletin lists 60 scored questions plus 5 unscored validation questions, 120 minutes, and a 70% passing score. The FAA directs applicants to the testing provider to schedule and pay; confirm the current testing-center fee during booking. See the PSI UAG Applicant Information Bulletin.
